Synergy Nutrition and Wellness is a functional medicine/nutrition practice driven by a systems approach, not an approach based on “protocols” you can find from a Google search. Christina understands that practicing true functional medicine/functional nutrition begins with a deep understanding of how all of the organ systems work together. Christina skillfully uses her knowledge of the various mechanisms of action within the body to identify the weak link in your health and combines a food as medicine approach with functional lab testing to get optimal results. Christina ensures there is ample time in sessions to build a connection with clients, allowing an opportunity to address mental/emotional needs, not just the physical symptoms.

After our discovery call, I will book your appointment. I will send health assessment forms for you to complete and also advise on what lab work you will need to obtain prior to our first appointment.
All nutrition appointments are virtual, using a HIPPA compliant online platform similar to Zoom. Any handouts or educational materials will be explained during your appointment and then e-mailed to you. You will also receive a written treatment plan.

Synergy Nutrition and Wellness is cash-pay only. However, you may use HSA/FSA funds to pay for services. If your insurance provider covers nutrition services, Christina can also supply you with a receipt which you may then submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. If you anticipate submitting a receipt to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement, it is important to FIRST speak with your insurance representative to see which nutrition-related diagnosis your insurance provider covers and if there is a limit to how many visits they cover per year.

Functional lab testing is not covered by insurance. Christina is sensitive to the client’s budget and strives to recommend functional lab testing and supplementation only when truly necessary – saving you time and money. If there are labs that can be obtained through your primary care physician, Christina will always recommend this.
Some clients may require supplementation as part of their treatment plan. Supplements are not regulated by the FDA and it is important to Christina that she uses supplements that are of high quality. Professional grade supplement manufactures take extra steps to test for quality and verify the potency of the product, increasing the cost of the supplement.
