About me
My passion for nutrition began in the kitchen – I love cooking, baking and most of all eating interesting global cuisine.
My interest in cooking inevitably led to learning more about how food is grown, processed and how it effects our body. I became fascinated by the potent compounds found in fruit, vegetables and herbs. Food co-op’s felt like “home”- I could browse for hours! As cliché as it sounds, I discovered back then that food is medicine and optimal health is achieved when we prioritize eating foods grown with the health of the consumer and earth in mind and spend time connecting with nature. However, it wasn’t until I attended culinary school that I realized I wanted to pursue a career in nutrition.
Fast forward a decade later, my passion for ‘deep’ nutrition led me to the world of functional medicine and functional nutrition. For the last 6 years I’ve helped thousands of clients at a local clinic using a functional nutrition approach that combines food as medicine and evidence-based lifestyle techniques. The power of functional medicine and functional nutrition is what inspired me to build my own practice, one that allows me to better serve individuals using this root cause, systems-based approach.
I’m so excited for the opportunity to share my knowledge of food, cooking, grocery shopping and love of the outdoors with you. Most importantly, the opportunity to help you reach your nutrition goals!
